Virginia reporter gets hit by car on live television, kept reporting and says she OK

“My whole life just flashed before my eyes”

On Wednesday, January 19 a local reporter in West Virginia was hit by a car during a live shot while on the scene of a water main break in Dunbar.

Tori Yorgey, a TV reporter for NBC affiliate WSAZ was reporting during an evening newscast when the SUV hit her and her solo camera-equipment.

“Oh my gosh! I just got hit by a car, but I’m okay,” Yorgey said. “We’re all good.” After being hit, the driver got out the car to see if she was okay.

“You know that’s live tv for you, it’s all good. I actually got hit by a car in college just like that, I am so glad I’m okay.”

The clip has been seen over 2.6 million times and people on social media are sharing mixed reactions.

She said it was her last week on the job and according to Pittsburgh Post Gazette she will be joining WTAE-TV as a reporter.
