Since the beginning of time, college students across the world have been trying to figure out a cost effective way to get a higher education with little to no debt.
Jamal Arthur, Manager and Entrepreneur created a community to help college graduates become and remain debt free.
Arthur, founder of “Lose the Loans,” is using his talents to help people learn financial literacy and provide resources for families around the United States.
” It feels like God has given me so much in my life,” Arthur said. “It’s the least I can do for folks.”
In addition to being a business owner, Arthur is also an Analytics Manager in the Banking Industry, volunteer instructor at DC Public Library since 2018, and former contractor for U.S. Department of Education’s National Student Loan Database System.
Like many others, Arthur used the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic to create and foster his online community that consists of 700+ people.
” It’s crazy to hear about how Lose the Loans, or something I posted in the group or mentioned on a call with [ someone ] has impacted them in a positive way,” Arthur said. In the future, Arthur sees himself creating a non-profit intended to guide borrowers through repaying their federal and private student loans.
Arthur says he lives by the inspirational quote, ” knowledge is power, your’s is ours.”
With so much going on in the news with President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, groups like Arthur’s could be beneficial to help you understand and navigate through everything.
