Q: What are your three key secrets as a Virtual Assistant/SMM?
A: Organization, Community, Showing Up
- Organization is key, but you have to figure out what works for you. Having a virtual to do list and physical to do list helps me stay on top of things that need to get done!
- BUILD YOUR COMMUNITY. This isn’t easy. And things are constantly changing on social media. Building relationships with other social media managers and virtual assistants is KEY. Not only are you able to learn from and be supported by them, you’re able to share resources and referrals!
- Show up consistently and authentically. People can easily tell when you’re not being your true self and they’re deterred. Be you and your ideal clients will come!
Q: What’s the impact you want to make with your gift?
A: When I brought my team on, it was important that they we were all young black women. I wanted to provide an opportunity to my specific demographic that they may not have gotten otherwise. Almost all of our clients are young black women as well. The impact of surrounding myself with successful, driven, hard working women who look like me has been amazing.
Q: How did the pandemic affect your business?
A: The pandemic happened prior to my launch, but I think it drove a lot of people to social media and starting their own businesses! Thus creating clients that need our services.
Q: What’s one inspirational quote you live by when it gets tough?
A: Honestly? I remind myself that everything happens for a reason, even when I don’t understand what that reason is. I have “every moment matters” tattooed on my arm because I truly believe each one does.
Q: Where do you see you and your brand in the future?
A: I want to continue to grow my team and my client base, for sure! I launched ‘The Key to Consultations (eBook).’ I compiled my sales knowledge to teach other service providers how to take their discovery calls and turn them into paying clients! I plan to release more digital products to continue teaching what I know! I’d also love to see my 30 day mentorship program grow to a larger scale. Currently, I take up to 2 mentees a month that are ready to launch their own Virtual Assistant and Social Media Management business.
