Almira L. Daramy is a woman on a mission to empower the youth and young adults to pursue their dreams and unlock their potential. She is the founder of Second Chance Fashion NonProfit, an organization that aims to motivate individuals to dig deep into their passion, dream the impossible, and push forward into pursuing their God-given destiny.
Almira aka the ‘Purpose Pusher’, born in Sierra Leone has faced her fair share of challenges and obstacles in life. She is not only a devoted single mother of four children but also a child of God and a humanitarian. She has dedicated herself to helping others find their purpose in life and has been an advocate for those in need.
Almira’s passion for fashion and her desire to empower others led her to establish Second Chance Fashion NonProfit. The organization focuses on using fashion as a tool to help individuals build their confidence, self-esteem, and skills. Through workshops, training sessions, and mentoring programs, Almira and her team of volunteers aim to help the youth and young adults realize their full potential and pursue their dreams.
“The most difficult thing about getting started was to push back all the distractions, that would stop me from completing my book. Each week I set a goal to finish a certain amount of poems. By the end of 7 weeks my book of poems was complete. Becoming an author has given me more confidence to push others into their purpose,” Almira said.
Since the pandemic, Almira has served over 500 people with my Fashion, Purpose Pusher, and DIY skills.
In September 2018, Almira Léonché completed her residency program as a Fashion Artist/TV Host under the 202 Creates Program (OCTFME). As a Resident Designer of the DC Fashion Incubator at Macy’s, she showcased her Rose Collection in the Smithsonian of African Arts on May 3, 2019, drawing inspiration from their Good as Gold Exhibit. With her talent and hard work, Almira continues to make a name for herself in the fashion industry and beyond.
As a natural creative, she possesses a multitude of talents that include, but are not limited to, African DIY projects, media personality hosting, lifestyle influencer, and fine arts teaching.
Her business has now expanded to 1:1 and Group Coaching for business owners looking to scale their brand. Her creative instincts have always been a driving force behind her success, and she continues to showcase her artistic abilities in diverse fields.
