For Lanaya Lewis, storytelling is more than a career — it has become a way to help people and communities feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
Today, Lanaya describes herself as the “Community’s Publicist,” using communications, publishing, and storytelling to amplify people doing meaningful work and help them find their voice.
Lanaya has led communications for the launch of Sacramento State’s Honors College and co-founded the Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Her work has also earned recognition as one of Comstock’s Magazine’s 2024 Young Professionals of the Year and as a 2024 Exceptional Woman of the Year Honoree.
Through every chapter, her mission remains centered on helping others heal, connect, share their stories, and create change.
